To portray the status of higher education in the country, Ministry of Human Resource Development has endeavored to conduct an annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) since 2010-11. The survey covers all the Institutions in the country
engaged in imparting of higher education. Data is being collected on several parameters such as teachers, student enrollment, programs, examination results, education finance, infrastructure. Indicators of educational development such
as Institution Density, Gross Enrolment Ratio, Pupil-teacher ratio, Gender Parity Index, Per Student Expenditure will also be calculated from the data collected through AISHE. These are useful in making informed policy decisions and
research for the development of education sector.
The Information realated to the State of Mizoram have been consolidated in this Website. The area of our Focus is to give a clear picture of the current Status of our Education System with
in the State considering the different parameters from the AISHE data.
All the Represetative of each INSTITUTE from the MIZORAM State can login to there respective Account for the Purpose of uploading their New data.
About Survey
Higher education is of vital importance for the country, as it is a powerful tool to build knowledgebased society of the 21st Century. India possesses a highly developed higher
education system which offers facility of education and training in almost all aspects of human creative and intellectual endeavors: arts and humanities; natural, mathematical and social sciences, engineering; medicine;
dentistry; agriculture; education; law; commerce and management; music and performing arts; national and foreign languages; culture; communications etc.
The official statistical system plays a key role in any
society, especially, in a large and diverse democracy. A key principle of the system is that it must be completely independent and transparent. In view of the above, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) initiated
an All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) in the year 2010-11 with reference date of 30th September, 2010 to build a robust database and to assess the correct picture of higher Education in the country.
The main objectives of the survey was to
- identify & capture all the institutions of higher learning in the country
- Collect the data from all the higher education institutions on various
aspects of higher education
A Task Force was constituted with representations from various stake-holders such as Ministry of Human Resource Development, University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education, Medical
Council of India, Indian Institute of Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, Central Statistics Office, Distance Education Council, National University of Education Planning & Administration, Universities, State
Higher Education Departments to conceptulise the Survey and to provide technical guidance.
Keeping in view the importance of the information gathered through the survey, Task Force recommended making the survey
an annual system of data collection on higher education in the country. The recommendation was accepted by the Ministry and the survey is now an annual exercise.

- Institution’s Basic Details
- Teacher’s Details
- Details of Non-Teaching Staff
- Programme conducted under various Faculties/Schools
& Departments/Centres
- Students enrolled in these Programme
- Examination result of terminal year of each Programme
- Financial Information such as Receipt and Expenditure under various heads
- Availability
of Infrastructure
- Scholarships, Loans & Accreditation

that will push us beyond our current limits. In this context, I would like to stress a primary focus on how we could increase our Gross Enrollment Ratio with in the state. However, I am confident that all of you have
the capacity and ability to meet our expectations and the demands for the next level. Our goal is to ensure that all students with in our state becomes critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers,
diligent researchers and prolific writers. To achieve this the initial steps to identify the short coming of our Education System and propose a derived solution which will enhance the grade of our current system. We
do all of this to prepare the student within our State, for the demands of the real-world so they may become productive citizens, become our future leaders, and contribute and/or give back something positive to the
community.
